In this song, Tyagaraja questions the Lord why there's a screen between them. He questions why the Lord chooses to remain concealed from him, even when Tyagaraja has understood that this entire Universe is a manifestation of the Lord. He says the moving and the non-moving, both represent the Lord Almighty; the Sun and the Moon may the eyes of the Lord. He also says that all he can think about is the Lord Almighty and in the end he asks the Lord to protect him. Protect him as we protect a lamp from being blown away.
This particular Fusion of Marugelara is not available anywhere in the internet. One of my mother's cousin gave me the DVD with this song. I thought I lost it for a few months. This version was so so good, with Sir Unnikrishnan singing, that no other version could satisfy me. I searched a lot but couldn't find it. A few months later I found the DVD when we moved. Then I instantly copied it to my computer to make sure I never loose it again. I'm posting this video so that each and every one of you can find this beautiful Fusion music.
